The sheer trend isn’t exactly revolutionary; we’ve all got a see-through chiffon blouse or seven in our closets. Yet it has never been embraced with quite the enthusiasm of the spring/summer 14 collections. It was seriously everywhere. Models proudly stomped down the runway leaving very little to the imagination at shows like J. Mendel, Michael Kors, Alexander Wang, Philosophy, Milly, Jason Wu, Tibi, Jeremy Laing, and Lacoste, making it undeniably one of the biggest trends of the season.
The collections were clean, minimal, and modern. It’s a cool new take on sexy, a much needed departure from short and tight, but I cannot be the only person distracted and horrified by the prospect of full on nip exposure. Who is paying the big bucks to essentially be wearing cling wrap and a scrap of fabric? Not me.
But don’t worry you don’t need to choose between public indecency and not following one of the season’s most on-point trends (tough choice, I know). Miss KL has got tons of beautiful, sheer cutout pieces that won’t leave you feeling totally exposed, but rather just the right amount of sexy. Here’s a few of my faves.
