On Sunday we lost an absolute legend, Lou Reed at age 71 and I’ve mournfully had his music on repeat since. The incredibly influential Velvet Underground vocalist’s death was not only a loss for the music world but for anyone who values self-expression, individuality, innovation, creativity, and style. The world would be a sad, dull place without people like Lou, but luckily he’ll live on in his music, continuing to inspire people to do whatever the hell they feel like. It’s a real loss, but instead of being too sad, take a moment to reflect on, appreciate, and be inspired by the man who created our contemporary notions of cool.
Rest in peace, Lou and thanks for everything.
