Boston-based Babes, stand up!  Our fair city (and Miss KL HQ home base) is holding its second installment of the Boston Calling Music Festival this Saturday & Sunday.  We’ll be at the festival getting the inside scoop for all you playing along at home (make sure you’re following us on Instagram, @RealMissKL, to stay up), and we wouldn’t be your Festival Fashion Spirit Guides if we didn’t give you tips and tricks on how to be the most stylish one there.  Whether you’re an Indie Babe catching Vampire Weekend on Day 1, or a Chick in Kicks rapping along to your favorite Kendrick Lamar song on Day 2, we guarantee you’ll <3 our Boston Calling Style Staples.

FOR DAY ONE:

Our favorite shirt: The Mountain –  Rottweiler Tee

BC_SHIRT

This t-shirt from The Mountain, aside from being totally adorable, is comfy, casual, and can be styled tons of different ways to fit anyone’s personal style.

Our favorite pants: Dickies Girl – The 5pkt Skinny Stretch Twill Pant in Black

BC_PANTS

A closet staple, you can never go wrong with a pair black pants for virtually any occassion.  This pair from Dickies Girl is our top pick for festival gear since Dickies is notorious for putting out durable, high-quality product.  That means you can dance your butt off and not worry about any wardrobe malfunctions!

Our favorite dress: *MKL Collective – The Innocent Dress in Medium Denim

BC_Dress

You can never go wrong with denim, and this adorable dress is great for warm, sunny days.  Pair this with a floppy hat and a pair of strappy sandals and achieve a classic, sunny-day look instantly.

Our favorite romper: Reverse – The Eat You Up Romper in Black Floral

BC_Romper

Floral.  Floral.  Floral.  If there were a Festival Fashion Bible, Floral would be one of the most-read chapters.  Put a modern spin on a classic pattern with this deep V romper.

Our favorite shoe: Jeffrey Campbell – The Everly Boot in Black

BC_Boot

Simple & straightforward, The Everly Boot is one of our faves for ANYTHING because you can pair it with virtually any look.  We recommend these boots for a festival because they’re comfortable and low to the ground (so your dogs aren’t barking after an entire day of standing in heels).

FOR DAY 2:

Our favorite shirt: Crooks and Castles – The Editorial Tunic Tee in Heather Grey

BCSHIRT1

We <3 Crooks, and so should you – their styles strike the perfect balance of girly and edgy.  This shirt is oversized and comfy while still having a fashion forward look.  Also, breathable cotton will keep you cool while you’re bobbing your head to Flosstradamus or twerking to Major Lazer.

Our favorite shorts: *MKL Collective – The Keep Right On Short

BCSHORTS

Cheetah print – (arguably) the best print.  These shorts are just as comfy as they are cute (do you sense a theme?  For me, festivals are alllll about comfort).  Dress these up with a crop top and pair of boots, or go for a casual look with a t-shirt and Vans.

Our favorite jumper: Unif – The Bundy Jumper

BCJUMPER

For your inner Bad B*tch.

Our favorite leggings: Civil – The Golden God Leggings

BCLEGGINGS

These Black & Gold Leggings a la Versace are awesome to add some adornment to any outfit.  Keep the rest of your outfit simple with these babies (I suggest solid black all over) so as to not overwhelm.  Remember: less is more.

Our favorite Sneaker: Vans Footwear – The Sk8-Hi Sneaker in Black and White

BCVANS

When in Rome:  Since Boston Calling is sponsored by Vans, it only makes sense to lace up your best sk8-hi sneakers (aka dancing shoes) for optimal comfort while you jump, dance, and walk around Government Center.
