Somehow we found ourselves in late September. The last few days of warm weather are upon us and were transitioning into fall, shorts are being swapped for jeans and iced coffees for pumpkin lattes. Parting with your summer wardrobe is always bittersweet but luckily we don’t have to say goodbye to the magical prisms and rainbows that is hologram, our (continued) obsession.  Did it all start with the Tupac hologram at Coachella? I don’t know. But we for sure saw it on spring 2013 runway shows like Jonathan Saunders and Stella McCartney. We loved it all the way through summer and it’s going nowhere for fall

But let me guess, you have reservations. Thoughts like “I don’t want to look like a disco ball” or “Will I be confused for a 90s club kid?” are floating across your mind. But fear not, hologram coolness is in your reach.

Starting small, accents of hologram can be added to virtually any outfit. Designers are making hologram everything; so you don’t need to commit to a whole outfit, try a backpack or clutch. Feeling a little bolder? Opt for a statement piece like UNIF’s Gammaray Moto Jacket or Plur Crop Top. Try and keep the rest of your outfit simple and matte, any other metallics or a lot of jewelry can start to feel messy. I personally love hologram with an all white or all black outfit (yes, I know it’s after Labor Day, who cares?). Feeling really confident in your ability to rock hologram? Go all out and embrace your inner raver, alien chick. The select awesome among us can totally pull off a hologram skater skirt, crop top, and boots.
