British artist/photographer Anne Hardy is best known for her large-scale photographic work of unusual interior spaces. Hardy’s images seem to be photographs of existing places, but are actually carefully constructed sets which she then photographs. Hardy gathers found objects from various DIY shops, markets, and even the streets. She’s incorporated everything from brightly colored cables to old Christmas trees and scientific test tubes. Hardy puts these everyday objects together and transforms them into unusual, dreamlike environments which convey themes of abandonment and desolation.
