Here at Miss KL we’re always down for a little DIY fun. Being that the weather is getting a bit colder, you can be sure there will be more time spent indoors letting our inner Martha Stewart craft-nut run wild! This week we gave our boring collared shirts a makeover to create the most fun accessory you’ll own this season: the lone collar. There are just so many ways to DIY this simple yet rad project. However, with this particular DIY we chose to stud out our lone collar for an 80s punk inspired accessory. Let’s begin, shall we?
What you need:
- A collared dress or shirt with any print you’d like. I chose a fun polka-dot/stripe dress to add some spice to any look I choose to pair with the collar.
- Any shape of stud you like.
- A pen…this will be used to set your studs.
Step 1: Neatly cut off the collar of your shirt/dress.
Step 2: Begin placing your studs wherever you like. I did only the tips of the collar, but if you have more patience than I do, you’re free to stud out the entire thing. You see that pen? That pen is not just for doodling…you see, studding things can get a little painful for the fingers, so I would advise you use a steady pen to push in the teeth of your studs. Save your finger tips from the unnecessary bleeding .
Step 3: Rock your lone studded collar however you want! This DIY is a great way of showing off your personal style!
