Is it just me or is the fact that summer is almost over completely surreal? Like seriously — where did this season go?!?
Trying to enjoy the last few hazy days of summer, I managed to spend a Saturday afternoon strolling around the shopaholic’s paradise known as SoHo (and if you never been, then you should now know that Saturdays in SoHo means streets filled with shopping-crazed tourists along with a few locals trying to keep it real). Fortunately, my wandering travels lead me to meet 3 young ladies who each rock a style that totally their own.
With the last few days of summer on my mind, I was itching to find out what these stylistas will be missing the most about summer. As for me, I think the one thing I’m going to miss is not having to worry about a heavy coat ruin the vibe of your look or the fact that you can throw on a pair of Le Smoking Slippers without having to think twice about putting on socks.
But if you want to hear a less granny-fied answer to “What summer trends and style will you miss?,” check out what these chiquitas had to say:
Tell us about your look today: It’s very colorful. It’s very unique. I don’t like to wear things that most people have. I like to stick out in some way or another hence my hair style and the bright colored shirt. Mixed with just plain black. Neutral but very colorful at the same time.
What summer trends or summer pieces will you miss with fall just around the corner? Definitely going to miss shorts, short-sleeved T-shirts — those are my favorite. I’m going to miss summer hats, like straw hats, and sunglasses.
How would you describe your style in three words? Funky. Ethnic. Simple.
Name: Taylor Hayden

Tell us about your look today: I’m wearing a tank top from Patricia Field, and a skirt I designed myself. I’m wearing hose from American Apparel, and shoes from Jeffrey Campbell.
What summer trends or summer pieces will you miss with fall just around the corner? I’m going to miss the circle skirt. Cropped shorts. Tanks. And most importantly crop tops.
How would you describe your style in three words? Different. Edgy. Fun.
Name: Natasha Rodriguez-Bacchus
Occupation: Graphic Designer/Jewelry Designer
Tell us about your look today: So my shirt is kind of cut-up, and this dress I also cut up from Zara. And the shoes I got on super sale at Zara.
What summer trends or summer pieces will you miss with fall just around the corner? I’m going to miss the sheer-skirt-long-skirt-over-the-short-black-mini-skirt. I mean you can kind of rock it in the winter, but it’ll be tougher, I think, for sure. I’m looking forward to the winter ’cause I can whip out some coats which is exciting.
How would you describe your style in three words? Minimalism. Ease. Classicism.
