We welcome Anniel to Karmaloop this spring in all its glittered glory because, let’s face it, there is no such thing as too much glitz. The pared-down slim silhouette of these Italian luxury shoes is a fresh departure from menswear inspired brogues with chunky heels and boyish detailing. You’ve gotta trust a brand with a 30 year track record of skilled laborers producing high-quality footwear in Montebelluna, located in the Treviso province, not far from Venice. Though their history is rooted in ballet slippers, Anniel has stayed on trend with colors, materials, and print. Hands down, my favorite thing is that the Derby Shoe was originally developed for street performers, with a soft structure that allowed the artists to move. Now a hit in Japan and elsewhere abroad, I’m ready to rock these babies around Boston… though I don’t exactly have intentions of doing back flips in them to entertain pedestrians.
