ADEEN is making its mark on the jewelry scene with big, colorful acrylic accessories already appreciated by entertainment hot shots like Andrej Pejic, Cassie, and Iggy Azalea. Landing at Karmaloop any day now is the young brand’s SATURDAY line, inspired by designer Remy (Rembrandt) Duran’s childhood spent devouring Saturday morning cartoons. The bold graphic influence on his collection is clear in its original pieces that push boundaries and make sure onlookers take note. With quirky roots in plush pins based on Remy’s 3rd grade cast of comic characters, this Lower East Side native has built quite a following, spurring many iterations of his work and even collaborations with industry players like CHRISHABANA (the brand’s ADN line). Many of the pieces reference fictional villains from his past, and we dig the way Remy employs funky acrylic detailing on snapbacks and jewelry made for downtown club kids and simply eccentric fashionistas alike.

To commemorate ADEEN’s launch we want to intimately familiarize one of you fine readers with the Assman Ring. Assman, one of Remy’s original characters and the focus of this cheeky (pun intended) acrylic ring, has an interesting history:

ADEEN and more specifically Assman originated as a comic book series created when I was in the 3rd grade. He was the main character in the story about action, adventure and 3rd grade potty humor. Assman was my favorite of the series so I decided to continue drawing him and incorporating him into everything I did, from tagging up the hallways of my school to putting at the end of my signature. He became my trademark and best childhood memory. He represents all the good feelings and fun of my childhood and I’ll never not draw Assman or incorporate in things I do and design.

If the edgy ADN Chomp or C.U.N.T. (Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve, and Talent – duh!) hats are too loud for your sense of style, these clean rings and cuffs are right up your alley.

What was YOUR favorite Saturday morning cartoon? Tell us in the comments and you’ll be entered to win the ring! We will select one (1) winner on Friday at 4pm. Mine was Saved by the Bell… not a cartoon, but who cares, it was amazeballs.
