Impress your dinner party guests with homemade clementine candles. They are quick, simple DIY decorations. Plus, when the candles are lit, they have a delightful citrus aroma.

Step 1: Materials and tools: You’ll need a clementine, olive oil, a paring knife, a spoon, and matches or a lighter. Really, that’s it!

Step 2: Use the knife to slice off the top of the clementine. I did it about ⅓ of the way down.

Step 3: This is the tricky part. You have to dig the clementine slices out of the peel, leaving that inner stem like portion intact. The inner stem will be your wick. I used a clementine to make the candles because the slices easily separate from the peel. Start at the outer edges and loosen the clementine, then scoop them out.

Step 4: Fill the empty cavity with olive oil just below the top of your wick. Let the wick soak in the oil a few minutes before you light the candle.

Step 5: Spark it up and voila! You made a clementine candle.
