First it was color blocking. Then came neon. And finally, the S/S ‘12 collections, filling our heads with sugarplum dreams of frothy, feminine pastels for the upcoming months. Baby pinks, sky blues, and as Gaga predicted, lots of mint – all complimented by tableau rasa-esque white. And while there’s no harm in jumping on the trendy Easter egg colored bandwagon, there is something to be said for a hue that stays true season after season. By which, we are of course referring to our long term love affair with black. Black was there for us during our angsty teen years, after those nights of binging on pizza and ice cream, and most importantly, during those embarrassing moments we got a little too tipsy and accidentally sloshed our (girly fluorescent) drink down our shirt. So in the shopping frenzy of finding that perfect mint button down or that crisply structured white blazer, don’t forget to cast a glance at the color that always had your back.
