I recently encountered some stunning ball point pen illustrations that were favorably eery and drenched in saturated colors. They are the work of Brooklyn-based Shane McAdams, an artist and writer with a proclivity toward landscapes (expansive, sculpted deserts to be exact). Influences include maps and the complicated relationship between natural and man made elements of our environment: 2 themes clearly expressed throughout his range of work. I enamored by the notion of imagined places and fantasy mindscapes, and his aesthetic transports me to them quickly. Check out these examples from both series and click through for details.
