Our generation has spent endless hours trolling tumblr for gifs, because they are hilarious, sentimental, awe-inspiring, and quite often, badass cats. UK based artist INSA (of Elephant Dung Heels fame) caters to our yearning for low-tech moving pictures by pioneering gif-iti… thanks for the tip MISS! While definitely a labor intensive process, the end product gets to live on the internet forever and ever and ever! We’ve pulled a couple shots from the Insaland blog that are rad examples of this new graffiti form, Summer Spectrum and Online Love (part of a project with UNIT 44). I love how INSA weaves together web and street art intentionally, rather than simply creating a gif from existing media retrospectively.
