I don’t know about you, but I’ve never been one for the thematic holiday dressing.  I don’t wear green on St. Patty’s Day, I don’t get down with pink on Valentine’s Day, and I think it’s pretty safe to say that only way I’d sport Easter pastels is if someone had kidnapped my boyfriend and threatened to dangle him off the top of the Prudential Building by his baby toe unless I wore yellow. That is a bit extreme, but you get my gist.  In the spirit of anti-thematic dressing, we’ve compiled a list of what we deem the best non-cliche Independence Day outfits. Enjoy!

Free People Borderline Tee

1. The Borderline Tee by Free People:  The ultimate summer tee!  The creamy off-white color perfectly compliments a July 4th tan. Throw it on over a bikini or pair with some slouchy shorts and flippy floppies for a casual holiday weekend look.

The Crochet Tank by Unif

2. The Crochet Tank by Unif: Who said your beach look has to be made up of soffe shorts and a ratty old college  tee? A soft crocheted tank will keep you warm when the sun sets on your beach barbecue.

The Kimono Top by Lucca Couture

3. The Kimono Top by Lucca Couture:  A true child of the 9o’s, I’m downright tickled pink that the tie front shirt has made a resurgence.  This eastern-inspired top features a pretty bohemian summer print. It looks great on it’s own, or paired with a sun dress for some added warmth.

New Peace Baggy Boy Wildfox

4. The New Peace Baggy Boy Tank by Wildfox: No summer wardrobe is complete without at least one super soft, slouchy piece by Wildfox. The cuts are amazing, the quality of the fabric is high, and the tongue-in-cheek graphics are so on point it’s ridiculous.  Seriously.

Tea Top by UNIF

5. The Tea Top in Pink Hearts by Unif:  This sweet and girly crop top would look amazing paired with highwaisted-shorts and some strappy sandals.  Throw your hair in a simple top knot for a no-fuss weekend updo.
