“The Runaways,” tells the story of a young Joan Jett and the eponymous teenage band that jump-started her career. My verdict: The film was utterly forgettable, with the exception of Dakota Fanning’s fantastic footwear. Fanning portrayed teenage rocker Cherie Currie, the girl-band’s front woman. Currie herself seems pretty fascinating… Described by Bomp! Magazine as the “lost daughter of Iggy Pop and Brigitte Bardot,” Currie was a veritable style icon at the ripe old age of 16. Take your sartorial cues from this “Cherry Bomb” with the Chambray Matadora Vest by Joyrich, the Longline Bustier by Free People, the Lace Top Sheer Thigh High Sock by Foot Traffic, the Dandy Flare Jean by Free People and the Lita in Pewter Glitter by Jeffrey Campbell.
